'Think big' is what you hear people say when you've got a business idea, you're going to start a business or you're even thinking about your future. I think it is a brilliant idea, but thinking big can be hard. You try to think big and you think to yourself:
* If I go that big it'll be hard
* I might fail
* I'll need a lot money
* I've got a full-time job and I just can't don't have the time
* I don't have enough experience.
How can you think bigger?
Read stories of people who have achieved their dreams, or are on their way to achieving their dreams. Some people I have read to help me think bigger - Tony Robbins, Richard Branson, Elizabeth Gilbert, Julia Childs, Julie Powell. Find someone you find inspiring and read their story - realising that others started from nothing can help you to realise you can do it too!
Talk to people you know who have achieved their dreams and how they thought about things
If you talked to others it's likely they'll have ideas, or thinking patterns that might help you think big. It'll also help you to realise that others likely had doubts as you do too. It helps make the stage where you are ok.
Get help from your support network.
Often special friends will think bigger about your dreams than you do. I am really lucky to have a bunch of friends who do this for me - they believe in me and aren't shy about talking about it. If your friends are a supportive bunch ask them for their ideas and support.
Create your own special think big group
Once a month I catch up with a group of women, we all sit around and talk about our goals in a structured way, and then give suggestions, ideas and/or observations. They often have great ideas, and it holds me accountable to my thinking big....because they'll notice if my thinking starts becoming small. Affirmations
Affirmations are positive statements about how you want yourself or the world to be. You can use these to help you believe that you can achieve your dreams. To write affirmations, think about what you want and follow the guidelines below:
* Write it as a fact
* It's a positive statement
For example: I attract all the resources I need to do achieve my dream.
Get a life coach
A life coach can help you to think big, by getting you to visualise your goals and help keep you on track towards your goal.
